"The Thimble-Man". Character Rigging & Animation Showcase

This project showcases the full creation pipeline for "The Thimble-Man," a character inspired by a dark Dutch folktale about a hunter cursed for eternity. My goal was to build this character from the ground up, focusing on a strong, animator-friendly rig and a suite of animations that convey a consistent and unsettling personality.

Key Features:
Rigging: The character was fully rigged in Autodesk Maya, featuring IK/FK switching for the arms, an advanced foot-roll setup, and custom controllers to ensure intuitive handling for animators.

Animation: The animation set includes a full range of gameplay states:

Locomotion: Idle, walk, and run cycles that emphasize the character's labored movement and the struggle against the weight of its rifle.

Combat: A tense aiming loop and a sharp, impactful shooting animation designed to be layered additively in-engine.

NPC Interaction: A unique, atmospheric water-collection cycle designed to build world-lore and character depth.

Presentation: Animations were rendered in Arnold for a clean studio showcase, with an additional atmospheric scene rendered in Unity to demonstrate the character in its intended environment.

This was a fantastic journey in blending technical rigging with artistic performance. Thanks for looking!
